I'm only 75 pages into this. Already, it reminds me a bit of Anthony Doerr's "Cloud Cuckoo Land", in that it's four disparate stories from different time periods that are already starting to link together. 😀

I looked through our credit card bill to be sure I had the name of the café correct. I realized that our lunch (for two) was $68 and our dinner that evening at a different place, which was nice but nothing special was $138. Good thing I wasn't paying attention at the time. Yikes! 😱

Your work is lovely! What type of paint is this? I make jewelry, but what has recently made me "curious and delighted" is making small collages. It seems to have opened up my creativity. Unlike jewelry-making, I don't find myself wondering if someone will like/buy it. 🌅

Sorry you have to go through all the hassle. Our renovations were disruptive, but nothing big and unknown happened. It was before I retired, and I was working from home. For a few weeks I moved my work area out to the sun room. I remember all the light made it difficult to look at my screen all day.
