First they went for the independence of the broadcast media and still they attack them despite the obvious shift to the right. Now they go for the educational institutions and will continue to attack them despite any appeasement measures they put in place.

But the question that was asked was Robbie Gibb canvassed for his opinion on Shamir Shah being appointed as Chair and they managed to answer a different question.

The release of an unredacted Russia Report would be a first step in the right direction. I’m sure Starmer promised to do this when in opposition but what’s new regarding his promises

In some respects that makes it worse. If deregulation of the mortgage market and sale of council houses was a calculated act to send house prices out of young people’s reach and private rental costs soaring then my contempt for her grows more than if I thought she was incompetent.

While both come from totally opposite ends of the political spectrum the problem is they are both populists ie they both promise the world to their supporters but they haven’t got a hope in hell of delivering on those promises when they face the harsh realities of government. See Starmers manifesto.

If we had the same social media platforms in the 70’s and 80’s that we have now I can assure you that the contempt for Thatcher would have been there for all to see. She was widely despised especially in the north where her deindustrialisation policies destroyed the livelihoods of whole community

They didn’t like the idea of Andrew being called before a select committee to explain where his funding came from in case other questions regarding Royal Family finances were raised. A sacrificial goat but it’s not over yet

Sam Coates- say no more. He specialises in turning trivialities into crises. Spent weeks on highlighting Labour freebies shortly after the election but where is his in depth reporting of Farage’s stamp duty dodge or Farage’s girlfriend’s involvement in alleged funnelling of EU funds to UKIP

Which is even better for Reform because they can always deny that his views are not party policy even though we all know that they are

This is exactly the same crap the Right spout in UK about benefits claimants ignoring the actual facts.

Easy to demolish/destroy but a damn sight harder to rebuild. That applies to society as well as buildings.

It really is amazing that Labour is happy to let the increase in Employers’ NI contribution take the blame for the reduction in employment vacancies without any mention of AI taking entry level jobs out of the marketplace.

I think that that is the really serious issue facing both USA and other countries facing a rise of the far right. It is easy to drag politics and society into the cesspit of hate and division but virtually impossible to drag them out of the s**t when realisation hits home

Watching Johnson giving evidence this morning brought it all back what it was like being governed by a lying, incompetent, ‘not my fault guv’ f**kwit. And some Tories still think they need to bring him
back to save them.

The value is important because that is what he has declared to Parliamentary authorities and as such needs a formal investigation into the truthfulness of his submission.

He declared an estimated value of £1400 for a trip to the south of France for two days, staying in a beachfront villa, dinner in a Michelin starred restaurant for him and Oakshot. Get real.
Even if he didn’t include Oakshot’s costs in the declaration no way would £1400 cover it.
