Escondido approved a contract letting ICE agents train with weapons on city property. After Minnesota, this is unacceptable.

I’m appalled by the aggressive, un-American tactics that Trump’s ICE agents have deployed in our streets. This pattern of tragedies – including the death of a 37-year old U.S. citizen in Minneapolis and the latest shooting in Portland – should alarm every one of us.

Trump's cuts to PEPFAR and refusal to recognize World AIDS Day are cruel and un-American. In the Peace Corps, I cared for children born with HIV whose parents died of AIDS, and saw how vital this funding is. In Congress, I'll fight to fund PEPFAR and protect our LGBTQ community.

Such a great day joining the pre-apprentices at the IUOE Local 12 and Boilermakers Local 92 apprentice training centers. Building an economy that puts workers first means investing in union jobs that deliver fair wages, strong benefits, and high-quality infrastructure projects for our communities.

We must come together as a nation to heal, and to stop the spiral of anger and violence that is tearing at our country.
