10th overall pick in 2009 reached majors in a year, quickly ascended to closer role. Went 21-13 with 3.02 ERA, 95 saves in 355 games, but 8.44 ERA and 2 blown saves in 6 postseason games. Traded to TOR for Ben Revere, also pitched for SEA, CIN.

12th rounder in 2005 didn’t make it as starter but became trusted reliever: 26-24, 3.91 ERA, 1.310 WHIP in 229 games. Cut loose after tearing flexor tendon, resurfaced in SD and had 3.36 ERA in 333 games. Just named Padres manager 3 days ago.

Longtime slugger finished 19-year MLB career with Nats at age 43, batting just .154 with 1 2B, 0 HR, 2 RBI in 56 games (most of those as pinch-hitter). Totaled 265 HR, 899 RBI, .832 OPS in 1,895-game career that began in 1992 with Expos.

Acquired from Brewers in June to fill second base void following Jose Vidro injury. Broken wrist limited him to only 28 games, during which he batted .221/.330/.390. Last player to wear No. 11 prior to Ryan Zimmerman.

Rule 5 Draft pick from Twins made 26 MLB appearances (6 starts) over two seasons, going 2-4 with 9.19 ERA, 2.083 WHIP. Typically overmatched, did produce one signature moment June 9, 2007, outdueling Johan Santana in 3-1 win at Minnesota.
