When it comes to waste, one of the best things we can do is avoid one-use plastics completely. Pllastic recycling is a sham brought to us by the fossil fuel industry.

We are beyond thankful that both of our daughters could be home with us for Thanksgiving today. A dear friend reminded me that Meister Eckhart once said if the only prayer you ever say is Thank You... It will be enough,.
Thank You. Amen.

As I fall asleep at night, I feel a bit like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day - doomed to repeat what seems to be the exact same day of Trumpian fascist insanity over and over again every damn day.

My deepest fear right now about Trump is that he is such a narcissist and so completely bereft of morality and devoid of empathy that if he thinks he is going down, he might literally attempt to take the whole world down with him. Yes, I think he is that evil.

I understand the desire to end the shutdown to end the suffering it is causing, but if we don’t stand up more strongly against fascism, the suffering to come will be almost unimaginable compared to the suffering of a shutdown and the very real suffering we have already seen.

No democracy loving country should be appeasing Trump in any way. The more you appease him, the less safe your own democracy will become over time. What we are witnessing is not simply an American phenomenon, but rather a global movement of fascism and autocracy.

J.D. Vance said, “We have got to become a common community again, and you can’t do that when you have such high numbers of immigration.” I think it is pretty clear what he means by “common,” and it is not a vision of multicultural beloved community.
