Essential Sunday listening ❤️

Sundays. A long lie in to finish a great novel, then listen to some music, eat, drink, finish with an early night to start a new great novel.
Sundays.

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

Thoughts on #hamnet ?

Is it worth paying a small mortgage to see it on the big screen whilst people eat and talk through it.

I’m wondering if all murder mysteries come with a red ribbon 🤔

Thank you @bertsbooks.bsky.social

Just me, or anyone else hoping this excellent novel inspires/heralds the return to our screens of Douglas Henshall. We can call it ‘PEREZ’ or ‘ORKNEY’ for starters. Please have a word @anncleeves.bsky.social 😉

Iconic historical poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the memorial in my local village where he was was born and grew up. His works and infamous relationships with Wordsworth and Shelley make him our most famous literary giant. A nice Boxing Day homage for us to visit.

Now it’s been ‘officially’ released and is out there, here is my portrait of Composer Lorne Balfe, taken at Abbey Road this year. This is from my ongoing documentary on him and his work, started in 2024.

Book recommendation required. Something Christmassy with a good thriller/murder vibe.

Got slammed by the critics, but I still find it quite charming. There are lots of crap xmas movies out there, this isn’t one of them.
