Writer, editor, photographer. I watch old TV programmes and live in the Isle of Man; these two facts are unconnected.
Earliest Who memory is the cliffhanger to Part One of Robot, which was very early for me, but it was made more memorable because our ceiling collapsed at that point. Then there's a big gap until the next fragment which I've since worked out is The Collector shrinking in The Sun Makers.

For me, all the stories in The Five Faces of Doctor Who season are sprinkled with that Christmas-style mixture of nostalgia, childhood excitement and celebration by the fireside, on a dark chilly evening.

I now stop reading/watching/listening to something as soon as they use that dead, rotting word 'ic*n*c'. Does the writer mean 'famous', 'well-designed' or 'not immediately forgettable'? Then that's what they should use. Or perhaps they could use...I dunno...their imagination?

This post has caused me to recall the phrase 'presumably rather startled dolphins' and laughing so hard that slight pain developed.

I've got a copy of the Season Three Doctor Who Chronicles, published by DWAS in 2002. That has about 20 screen images that must come from TFOS and a load of others that could come from Z Cars or silent movies.

"Really Jo, did you fail French as well as Science? Depeche Mode means Speedy Fashion." (Scratches neck.) "Well, sort of."

Me too. It felt like watching TV that was made in the Stone Age rather than set in it, didn't it? When actually these episodes were only as old as Freema Agyeman's episodes are now.

Ah, thank you! 🙂I thought I'd give it an airing, given the sad news yesterday.

I was once on a London tube train when Timothy West got on and sat directly opposite me. I wanted to tell him how brilliant I thought he and Prunella were, and how much pleasure they'd given me - but decided to leave him to travel in peace. I kind of wish I had told him now.

Is it possible you misheard? 🤔 This definitely wouldn't be an insult.

That's an early use of 'incarnation' in the Doctor Who sense. The programme itself doesn't use it until 1986. Did the Mirror writer read the Target novelisations?

The dinosaurs in Invasion of the Dinosaurs are fine. Finosaurs.

I discovered my copy of the first volume recently. The pages are fluffy like a sponge cake, from all the thumbing.

The boy with the OOD gobstoppers went on to be something very grand-sounding in the offshore finance sector. His tale of whiskery confectionery still haunts me.

I'd like to nominate the memoirs of Fay Way - 'On The Other Hand'.
