Re: the costumes, the Khan ones do look a lot better, but I think if I were wearing them for days sat on that bridge, I’d rather go with the nice comfy-looking TMP ones!

That's very subjective. And theatre directors don't do any work I guess.
Point is, they'd both proven how good they were before making a Bond, and won big awards to show; and they both made all-time great, top earning, top-reviewed Bonds.

Whereas Mendes never did any graft and just fell into Hollywood? I don’t quite get this angle: EoD was made like a film and was brilliantly directed. I think Skyfall was brilliant too, and if you’re chasing awards you don’t do a Bond

The funny thing is he'd often put lens flares in there, which is kind of mad when you think it's a painting(!) but worked so well
