Unless Republicans figure out a plan by December 31, your health care could get a heck of a lot more expensive.

You can’t build a strong economy on fear. When immigration raids target our communities, restaurants close, shelves go empty, and people are too afraid to work.

This is what cruelty costs us.
New Orleans Restaurants Feel Squeezed as Border Patrol Sweeps In
Ripple effects from a federal crackdown illustrate how heavily the city’s robust dining scene depends both directly and indirectly on immigrant workers.

When small businesses suffer, workers suffer.

November’s private jobs report shows 120,000 jobs gone, mostly from mom-and-pop shops. Tariffs, tax giveaways, and health care cuts didn’t help workers.

Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. They deserve better.

No child should be scared to go to school. The Trump admin’s expanded ICE operations are creating fear in our classrooms and driving students, especially those from immigrant families, away from the supportive learning environments they deserve.
Here’s how immigration enforcement is affecting school enrollment in some districts
It appears that preliminary data and attendance trackers from some districts do not show a large-scale enrollment plunge due to ICE operations near school grounds.

There are a lot of questions surrounding the legality of the Trump admin’s recent boat strikes in the Caribbean. We’ll see how the oversight investigations in Congress pan out, but if the reports are true, Trump, Hegseth and all others involved WILL be held accountable.

Rural hospitals are being priced out of lifesaving care. A new $100,000 visa fee punishes small-town providers who rely on skilled immigrant health workers, like the techs and nurses keeping rural America running. This isn’t “America First.” It’s health care last.
Trump administration's new $100,000 H1-B visa fees could leave rural health care as collateral damage
Dozens of health care organizations have asked the Trump administration to shield the doctors, nurses, and techs they need to fill shortages from a $100,000 visa fee for skilled foreign workers.

Millions of Americans are facing skyrocketing premiums and deductibles. Health insurance isn't usable if you can’t afford it. We must extend ACA subsidies. Too many families are one ER visit away from financial crisis.

Public confidence in higher education is slipping. That should be a wake-up call. The cost is too high. The pathways are too narrow. We need bold investments in community colleges and debt-free degrees that actually prepare students for good jobs.

Ten years after the Paris Agreement, climate denial is louder and more dangerous than ever. Fueled by fossil fuel lobbyists and amplified by Trump and right-wing influencers, disinformation is delaying action we can’t afford to stall. We must fight back with truth.

Shifting politics, intensive lobbying and surging disinformation online have undermined international efforts to respond to the threat.

Millions of families rely on SNAP to put food on the table. Calling the program "corrupt" while pushing the largest cuts in history is cruel and dishonest. We should be making it easier to access food instead of adding red tape based on fear and misinformation.

Brooke Rollins has made a case for sweeping changes to food aid programs by claiming USDA has uncovered "massive fraud." But she and USDA haven't provided the underlying data or any evidence.

Threatening to strip Americans of their citizenship isn’t “tough on crime.” It’s authoritarian. We don’t protect democracy by targeting immigrants. We protect it by upholding equal rights, due process, and human dignity. Reckless statements like this have no place in our politics.

Since 1988, Dec 1 has marked World AIDS Day, a time to raise awareness and honor lives lost. But this year, the Trump admin refuses to acknowledge it. That silence won’t erase the crisis that decimated the LGBTQ+ community. It dishonors those we’ve lost and those still fighting.
Trump Administration Will No Longer Commemorate World AIDS Day
The State Department warned employees not to use government funds for the occasion and to “refrain from publicly promoting World AIDS Day through any communication channels.”

Millennials did everything “right”—they got degrees, started careers, and saved what they could. But between soaring prices and high interest rates, homeownership is out of reach for many. The American Dream shouldn’t be inaccessible. We need policies that put working people first.

Trump’s attacks on immigration and science are pushing doctors out of our country. As hospitals face critical staffing shortages, we can’t afford to lose any healthcare professionals. His policies are a threat to public health, especially in rural and underserved communities.

Immigrants make up a significant proportion of all the country's doctors. New policies are making it harder and less appealing for foreign-born physicians to come to the U.S.
