This is nowhere near what AGI needs to be.

We've created a statistical word generator. Because it's trained on the statistics of words written by ~ intelligent people, it tends to sound like it's intelligent. It's not. It has no concept of what it's saying. It has no concepts at all. It's just the statistically likely next word.

i use AI to complete jigsaw puzzles for me — now my house is FILLED with jigsaw puzzles. my jigsaw puzzle output has GONE GANGBUSTERS. i’m no longer burdened by doing all the painstaking work of doing puzzles, now i can just get to the part where i’ve DONE PUZZLES simply by having them DONE for me!!

I recently learned that racists can't be held responsible for their actions because of weak labor laws. So saying that journalists who abuse their position shouldn't be held responsible because they're female ... that tracks.

I didn't say it wouldn't be a _hostile_ takeover. But taking over the Democratic party is the most effective strategy because our electoral system only really supports two parties, and you have to displace one of the two dominant parties to have a chance at national power. Same way MAGA did it.

That has been my growing conclusion as well. The tournament of accumulation has reached a point where the winners can now completely control policy, rather than just exercise undo influence upon it.

The most effective way to create a progressive party with a viable chance of achieving national office would be to take over the Democratic party.
