Many people would lose their minds with joy if sitting cuties had shiny versions (myself included) though I recognize they likely won't do this lol (it would be awesome though!)

to be fair, I do agree with this, TPCI *loves* Mew a lot, and it's a legacy gen 1 character so I could see it getting special treatment over other Pokemon

the truth is that (to me) hyper-realism is (many of the times) very, *very* boring. I'll take a 1000 stylized caricatures or cutesy doodles over a hyper realistic eye drawing any day

I also remember this-- I felt like I was one of the only ones who actually liked Gen 5 when it came out. it was a never-ending meme to make fun of those games and their designs when they were new. I get legit angry as someone who loved it sincerely from day 1

Totally agree! there's an artist that I block simply because their artwork reminds me of a difficult period of my childhood & it triggers me to see it. the thing is that that artist is actually very talented & my block has nothing to do with them personally. It's just for my own mental health.
