An interesting Whitethroat caught this morning in suspended wing moult. Retained primary coverts on both sides, one retained primary on the right wing only and retained secondaries on both. Was very heavy too! #migration #birds #ringing

A great way to spend Friday night / Saturday morning, traipsing around a bog in the Midlands. 66 birds handled, 60 ringed inc 37 Snipe (6 retraps),15 Teal, 12 Jack Snipe, 1 Reed Bunting and a single Blackbird #ringing #birdringing #birds #ornithology

News a bit belated (seeing as this is first post and all) but a great weekend ringing in South Derbyshire. Steady catches Friday, Saturday and Sunday but highlight was juvenile Tree Pipit caught and ringed at a new site. Supporting cast of Chiff, Blackcap, Goldcrests most welcomed too.
