Congratulations to the Village Hotel Strikers who announced on the picket line yesterday that they've secured a major victory on pay and conditions. This is the first British hotel strike in 46 years and it's a historic and significant win for the young workers. They are an inspiration to all of us!

What a fantastic day at Elder Park Community Festival. It gave us enormous pleasure to invite one of the Village Hotel strikers to the stage; Shakeira spoke eloquently and passionately as she outlined the young workers' case and received a great response. Do what you can to support them!

Yesterday we went along to support the Village Hotel workers - well done to the overwhelmingly young people who are striking. David offered support if there was any moves to organise a fundraiser. Get along to the picket line, or make a donation to the strike fund. All power to the striking workers!

Thanks to everyone who came along and to those who helped spread the word about the gigs; it's super-appreciated. What a privilege to spend the morning delivering a @sgsah.bsky.social workshop on how a rock band might make history. We presented "21 Theses on The Tenementals", and learned loads from the PhD students who attended. It was a treat (as were the well-munched muffins). Thanks to Mariam for the photo!

Spotify is a horrible platform in so many ways. People should consider if they're ok using it. We use Tidal in the shop for streaming and are really happy with it. Some of the staff use Qobuz at home. Spotify sounds terrible and their ethics are disgusting.
