3/ The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights provide standards which companies and states need to follow to ensure human rights are respected. But they are not enough. When companies are involved in abuses, they must be held to account - including via criminal law.

2/ Why the focus on crimes?

Unfortunately we see that corporations are rarely prosecuted for human rights abuses committed overseas.

Our goal is to ensure that they are held to the same legal standards as individuals and that they do not go unpunished for serious crimes.
