Brussels sprouts grow upright on a tough, woody stem. This picture is a partly mechanized harvest, but a crew of workers used machetes to cut off the stalks in the field, while another worker trims off the leaves as he feeds the stalks into the machine. It's grueling work especially when it is hot.

Near the end of S1 they had a challenge that was basically flipping ikea shelves over on the ground, and I’ve always wondered what would happen if they ran that earlier — because it broke the big guy who tried to do it

Oh your team gives each other hi-fives? You don’t have a synchronized horseback archery team cheer? Ok, I guess

Here is Pavitra Sundar, in her essay "Listening with an Accent" on @aracelisxgirmay.bsky.social's "For Estefani", identifying curiosity as part of a new way of orienting to linguistic difference.

Here is @thevogelman.bsky.social identifying "curiosity" as a value to model in the classroom:

"In short, I’m trying to model what it is to be cautiously curious, to engage in reflective reconnaissance, and to share what I learn along the way."

Here is @writerethink.bsky.social conceptualizing "curiosity" as a pedagogical approach (or maybe a goal?) within the writing classroom, and referencing some earlier lingcomm work from McCulloch

Here is @cyn-k.bsky.social adopting the term "incuriosity" to describe a particular kind of writing

This is a particularly blatant example of sthg at the core of a dynamic /attitude I've always sensed & hated but couldn't put my finger on, until Ed Ongweso Jr named it in this fantastic article: incuriosity. Never trust people who don't care, and want you not to care, about the why & how of things.
