Very much enjoyed a brief camping holiday to #Llangollen, we did a lot of excellent touristy things, and I very much enjoyed finding an old favourite from my last visit to #Wales for the Eisteddfod.

Up bright and early to see the beautiful sunrise this morning on my way to the 'NXCT at Manchester' lab launch event. Looking forward to catching up with some old colleagues and seeing all the exciting science they have been up to.

We all had a great time at the #Reading #Hexagon theatre #Panto which was #Cinderella this year. Amazing cast and crew as usual, thanks for the great time!

And a selection of cans from some of the others. With my favourite being Elf Lager :-)

A couple of summary posts for the last few @brewdogofficial.bsky.social Advent calendar beers. I always enjoy the variety of different beers in the calendar, and this one has been no exception.

One last point though, I really think @brewdogofficial.bsky.social is trolling me, because look at the pattern they created on their calender! They very nicely set with all of the green windows to be opened first, a pattern which continued up to door 12, the last one, which was red!

Finally today the beer I'm actually drinking which is yesterday's #Day14 beer which is one of the more exciting ones, a #RockyRoad and the marshmallow taste is very good (I do have quite a sweet tooth)
December 15, 2024 at 11:25 PM
#Days12and13 and I was a monster and drank these from the can! So no pics of the beer itself, only the memory of the #PostPunk being a truly tropical taste. The #HazyJane was lovely as usual.
December 15, 2024 at 11:25 PM
#Days9-11 catching up a bit here, with the tasty #ShoreLeave, #SpeedBirdOG and #ArcadeMade all really good, nothing too exotic yet.
December 15, 2024 at 11:25 PM
#Day7 and #Day8 were two new beers to me (I think) from the @brewdogofficial.bsky.social #AdventCalendar. Lucky Break and Cold Beer Lager were both enjoyable beverages. I'm enjoying the freshness of the Larger tonight.

#Day6 and as it's not a school night we have a big can of #Jackhammer which is 7.2%! Quite a bitter IPA but nice if you like that 7/10 It's in last year's festive @brewdogofficial.bsky.social glass for a change today.
December 6, 2024 at 8:47 PM
#Day5 of the @brewdogofficial.bsky.social #AdventCalendar is an #ElvisJuice. This one is a little bit of an acquired taste as it's grapefruit, but the bitter kind of works. 6/10
December 5, 2024 at 10:10 PM
#Day4 of the @brewdogofficial.bsky.social #AdventCalendar and we have the classic #PunkIPA. A really nice standard beer. 7/10
December 4, 2024 at 9:33 PM
#Day3 of the @brewdogofficial.bsky.social advent calendar, and it's my favourite #Brewdog beer #ClockworkTangerine! 10/10
December 3, 2024 at 9:27 PM
#Day2 of the @brewdogofficial.bsky.social advent calendar and we have one of the flavoured #HazyJane beers, this one is peach. It's strong enough to be tasted, but not too strong as to dominate, and it's quite refreshing. 8/10

#Day1 of the @brewdogofficial.bsky.social advent calendar is the very tasty Wingman.

Very festive #weather today at the #RosalindFranklinInstitute #UKSnow
November 19, 2024 at 7:10 PM
Last talk of the day is "From volume electron microscopy datasets to segmentation models, feature
quantification, and data reuse" with Ilya Belevich. Really nice talk about the technical advances for segmentation through Microscopy Image Browser.
October 23, 2024 at 4:11 PM
Next talk is another #RosalindFranklinInstitute member, "Optimising a Pipeline for Segmentation of Synchrotron Micro-CT Volumetric Images of Villi and Vasculature in Human Placenta" with Avery Pennington. Lots of great information here on how to get the most out of a small piece of training data.
October 23, 2024 at 3:37 PM
Next talk in the second session is by the #RosalindFranklinInstitute Elaine Ho and is "Depositing biological segmentation datasets FAIRly"
Lots of really eye opening facts around the state of open data in the field.
October 23, 2024 at 3:19 PM
Final presentation of the session is "Cortical Neuropil Organization and Synaptic Nanoarchitecture in Postmortem Human Brain Revealed by Focused Ion Beam-Scanning Electron Microscopy" with Jill Glausier from #Pittsburgh. Really heroic effort on the segmentation side!
October 23, 2024 at 2:56 PM
Next up is "Spatial Exploration of Hepatoblastoma Tissue Bioarchitecture by
Volumetric Imaging, AI and Applied Mathematics"
With Florian Robert from #Bordeaux. I really like the approach of using custom neural networks to improve the output of others.
October 23, 2024 at 12:57 PM
First up is "Multimodal Lung Cell Atlas at the Nanometre Scale by Volume Electron Microscopy, AI driven 3D segmentation and super-resolution microscopy" with Aaran Vijayakumaran from #Cambridge. Some beautiful segmentations and visualisations. Nice use of #Empanada to smooth the process.
October 23, 2024 at 12:36 PM
Last talk of the session is "3D elemental mapping with SBF-SEM" with James Thompson from the Biomedical Imaging Unit @unisouthampton.bsky.social really interesting talk with lots to think about around sample preparation, but lovely correlation visualisation.
