I ran into this trouble when I released the first book of two where the hea won't come till the end of book 2. So now I'm going to release as a two book set.

So in conclusion let me just say it feels good to tell my story and then let it go. If you have been a victim of this kind of bullying, I know it's hard but just remember, bullies are miserable people so just keep living your life and finding the joy that seems to elude them.

But I decided I needed to tell my story then move on and never talk about him again. Brian Keene is a bully, an abuser, and a liar. I can tell that story because I've been his victim but no longer. He can continue his campaign of lies against me but I know who and what I am. And who and what he is.

The people who know me know better than to believe his lies, and I know there are plenty of people who have his number and recognize him for the abuser he is, some willing only to voice that in private because they don't want to be victim to his abuse themselves.

I have come to realize that ultimately he can't harm me. I have everything I ever wanted out of life, and he is obviously miserable enough he has to constantly punch down to make him feel better about his own life. That's sad on one level, but very dangerous on another.

Keene does the thing all bullies do. When confronted, he lies and gaslights and tries to make the victim out to be someone who DESERVES to be abused. And then he gets his cronies to join in, answering an accusation of abuse with more abuse.

That last one is truly baffling to me because it is pure fantasy, just the kind of lie a bully would come up with to discredit someone. Thing is I've seen him employ this kind of behavior many times on other people in the past. Like most bullies, his ego is fragile.

I haven't seen it because I still have him blocked but I started getting massive message from people saying he was talking shit about me again, going back to the days of the message board claiming I was some kind of gay sexual predator and a strange new claim that I tried to make money off his IPs.

Thing is I'm a nobody, I have no real social media following. A comment like that which doesn't even name him can't do anything to him, but bullies can't stand to be called out on their abusive behavior so they have to attack. They have to try to establish dominance.

Thing about Keene, like most bullies he has cronies he uses to help perpetrate his abuse. Someone apparently sent him that screen shot and he jumped on it. He claimed he didn't remember making that comment about fanfic, but since he seemed to know I was talking about him, that suggests he does.

Eventually I blocked him on all sites so that I didn't have to deal with him anymore. Recently I made a post without naming names about the writer who once told me fanfic made me not on his level now editing an anthology set in another author's world because I thought that was interesting.

He did this kind of passive-aggressive stuff a lot. On a Facebook thread one time where I said I liked to write fanfic, he commented to me, "Then don't ever try to pretend you're on my level." An attempt to make sure I knew he was superior and dominant, the way bullies love to do.

If I made the same post on different message boards he would comment something like, "I don't know why he feels the need to put this EVERYWHERE." People might say that's no big deal but it's the passive-aggressive stuff that bullies love to do to continue to try to make you feel small.

I was still a member of many message boards back then, and I posted regularly in the pre-social media days then later on Facebook. Keene seemed to make a point to make derisive comments to me every chance he got.
