Enjoyed this unusual book - reminded me of reading Henry Miller years ago. Deep & expansive considerations of masculinity, relationships, irritations, grief & much more to ponder. My father died before I was ready too - for this and many other reasons this will stay with me @markabowles.bsky.social

This is very depressing & completely at odds with the “Drivers of performance” from the Darzi independent investigation into the NHS - “the sheer number of national organisations that can ‘instruct’ the NHS encourages too many to look upwards rather than to those they are there to serve.”
