Reading a bio of Tim Raines recently reminded me of Rickey. On one level they had fairly different outlooks, but similar era and similar skill set in terms of getting on base and stealing bases

He was for sure eccentric and I wouldn’t consider him a role model, but in terms of competitiveness, striking fear into opponents, confident results, dominating certain categories, getting on base and stealing them, and all round athleticism… he was sure one of a kind…

Yeah there must not be an obscure rule where if there are no hits in the last 3 innings in game 7 of the WS it resolves to a joint WS win
