Making caramel out of condensed coconut milk. Its essentially a vegan riff on dulce de leche.

Eldest is turning 3 tomorrow, obviously that means he gets to hand out treats. Have made a gluten free, vegan brownie that contains no nuts. Just to make sure I cover as many allergies as possible. I want most kids to be able to have some.

This is one of those wonderful and underrated ingredients, especially if you do a lot of vegan cooking. A healthy umami bomb. Great as a cheese substitute.

I've long wanted a film to be made about Manuel Chrysoloras, he's a rather obscure chap, serving as an ambassador for the Eastern Roman empire to Venice, and places like that. During the 14th/15th century. He's the spitting image of F. Murray Abraham. (Sorta, a bit)
