If you do a thing that causes the prices to go up and then have that thing undone, you get to claim lowering prices.

if you can, consider giving local food pantries cash - they know what is shelf stable and most nutritious. I’ve sorted food for our local one and a lot of canned/jarred foods just don’t work for them.

Thank you - I've had the fortune to see the ones on display in MSI Chicago, Smithsonian, Deutsches Museum, RAF London, and Bletchley Park. The LCM+L is the only one I've been able to get hands-on and had the staff willing to operate certain functions of it to see it in mechanical operation, though.

Darn. I appreciated getting to learn about that machine while trying to reverse engineer and 3D model one. It was a great resource that required some coordination but was accessible.

Thanks also to @scott.hanselman.com for spreading awareness about ICM! I used to go to LCM+L pretty frequently and didn't know about ICM.

Question: I'm trying to figure out what happened to Paul's Enigma Mk4 machine that was on display at LCM+L -- anyone know?

at first I read the PPAP as CPAP and wondered if that's why they were sleepy

i'm thinking about devices like Flock cameras too, which are preying on perceptions about insecurity to massively surveil the population. That data is then valuable and can be resold to others who can use and process that data to deliver targeted ads or other "business values". 3/3

the reasons don't matter. It would be great if companies and organizations were to develop a safety mechanism for these that would enable people who don't want to be monitored to get their wishes by these devices that behaved well from a surveillance perspective. 2/n
