This work highlights that chronic gut inflammation involves coordinated remodeling of both epithelial and stromal compartments, extending beyond immune cell activation to reshape tissue structure and function.

Specifically, we found a new IBD-specific epithelial cell type emerging the expresses PCSK6. We identified putative signaling between PCSK6⁺ epithelial cells (Kitl⁺) and Kit⁺ ILC3s, as well as upregulation of IGF1 in fibroblasts that may contribute to epithelial remodeling.

We mapped transcriptional and cellular changes in a spontaneous model of #CrohnsDisease -like ileitis, uncovering extensive epithelial and stromal remodeling that mirror key features of human inflammatory bowel disease ( #IBD).

Proud of Aaliyah and Haleigh from my lab who chose to spend their Sunday morning sharing their work with the community!

Thank you to SUFS organizers for the important work you are doing

Ppt! There is a setting to change the slide dimensions. It was super fun to present but probably won’t get to reuse the slides anytime soon 😂
