Ooh, not sure we got free pencils but it was a long time ago 😱. Weather seems rotten everywhere, not surprised you had to retreat. Not heard of that book;will google it 😁

Even aside the nature of what he might or might not have been doing, the number of folk actually working on highways who say cheerfully "I'll only be 5 minutes, I don't need traffic management/a hoist/a harness etc" is terrifying. You can die in seconds.
