Rachel Reeves is right that the world has changed - so why won’t she change her strategy to reflect it? Rigid adherence to arbitrary fiscal rules & refusing wealth taxes is a political choice that’s causing huge pain & harm, as well as laying out the welcome mat for the populists at Reform UK

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

Absolutely. Flight attendants basically have two modes of operation:

1) Would like peanuts with your drink?
2) Do what I say if you want to live.

The vast majority of the time they are in Mode 1.

Mode 2 is what they train for. Your life depends on them and they deserve your respect and thanks.

As farms got bigger, and land prices rose, those farms became more valuable. An IHT exemption created when there were lots of smaller farms with little ££ value, became a massive tax break for farms worth millions - and that attracted in the big money - yes the Clarksons & the Dysons et al. 5/6

This is not an accident, it's a long term farming industry strategy, led by the NFU. One particular factor that forced this change is the way farm subsidies were handed out. The NFU lobbied fiercely to ensure that small farms were either excluded from subsidies, or got a tiny share. 4/6
