+1 to needing a movie, especially of the bit with them defining their relationship (without intentional coordination) while separately on the phone with 911

This is Merry, he figured out how to open doors with lever handles.

I had to swap a room to a round knob so I can contain him & his brother Pippin when needed.

The levers are easier for the humans though, so he's the reason my doorknobs no longer match 🙃🙃🙃

I picked up a really excellent book yesterday -- "Gender Identity for Kids" by Andy Passchier

Aha! Thanks to searchable email, I present my mom's version of wacky cake!
oven @350        45-55 minutes WACKY CAKE 3 C flour 2 C sugar 6 T cocoa 2 t soda 1 t salt 1 T vinegar 12 T salad oil (3/4 C) 2C cold water Blend dry ingredients, add wet ingredients, bake  - works best in tube pan BUTTERCREAM FROSTING 1/4 lb margarine, softened 1/8 t salt 1 t vanilla 3-4 T milk 1-2 # confectioners sugar To use with wacky cake, I use 1/2 mint extract and 1/2 vanilla

Wacky cake!!

My mom had an old family recipe for wacky cake & it was the most common cake we made when I was growing up!

This recipe looks pretty much the same as the one I grew up with, though we used milk, not water, in our frosting & we usually used vanilla extract, not cocoa powder

Also, the pictures in this book are gorgeous! Look how shiny these hot cross buns are! (And not even just the reflection on the page from my overhead lights!)
