Activity of S1 neurons tended to decrease in frequency, but maintained similar amplitude. See paper for more!

We observed transient changes in sensory maps as well as functional connectivity between cortical areas. Maps transiently expanded while connectivity decreased, in a way that we don't fully understand yet.

We captured the resulting cortical spreading depolarization with in vivo widefield imaging.. a massive wave that propagated over cortex in ~30 seconds
