It's the context of the story (the fact that she goes back to her father's house, and that the Levite wants her back), as well as early translations, that raises questions about the verb in the Massoretic text.

What infuriates me, is that people who hold views similar to mine are often accused of twisting scripture or of being duplicitous. But I honestly believe my views make the best sense of what Jesus, Paul and Peter says about relationships within the body of Christ.
