Well here’s a thing, there were two ladies training in the lane next to me this morning and they were doing drills I’d not seen before, wearing deep sea diving fins and elaborate head gear so l had to ask - underwater hockey, l know it’s been around for years but what a thing - and a great idea 🤗

Chicken marinating in crispy chilli oil, Sambal oelek, ginger, garlic, lime juice, brown sugar, soy, sesame and oyster sauce - will bake on a bed of onion, capsicum and fresh chillies served with Asian greens and steamed rice :)

Oh by the way l bought this today - Just Kids was one of the most amazing partial autobiographies I’ve ever read, and all her memoirs - M Train of course, are breathtaking .. l expect this will be no different…and been told it is both a prequel and a sequel to Just Kids …

Second swim in three days - this time three and a half kilometres, have struggled a bit this year but if and when l get back up to six or seven paddles a week l will be in my happy place 🏊🏊🏊❤️

Unlike Asian cooking, Italian cooking, as a rule, doesn’t need a lot of prep, but for dishes like risotto it takes the stress away and it helps with maniacal obsession disorder - fyi the stock l made last week, is being steeped in porcini mushrooms, thyme and a bit of sage :)

Decided to go in a different direction with the salad - Rocket (Arugula), pear, walnuts, blue cheese and balsamic glaze, simple and elegant :)

So tonight I’ll be making risotto using the cast iron frying pan my sons gave me two years ago which took two days to season, weighs nearly seven kilos and was forged in the fires of Mount Doom - and is fabulous!
