We've updated our map of the Mid-Atlantic's artificial reef footprints to include two new sites off #Virginia in the #Chesapeake Bay and two new and nine expanded sites off #NewYork.

We've added monthly sliders showing areas that experienced marine heatwaves in recent years and a series of maps predicting hotspots of change in habitat suitability for highly migratory species like #sharks, #swordfish and #tuna. 🦈

New maps on the Portal show monthly sea surface readings from 2018-22 in the Mid-Atlantic for four parameters are instrumental for determining #oceanacidification levels and events: pH, pCO2, H+, and aragonite saturation. 🌊🧪

NEW: We've added maps that illustrate seasonal relative abundance for 14 coastal fish species in nearshore waters and major estuaries in the Mid-Atlantic as reflected in repeated coastal trawl surveys.

Happy #CoastGuardDay! The #CoastGuard was founded OTD in 1790 by Sec. of State Alexander Hamilton and today protects 100,000 miles of coastline & waterways. The Mid-Atlantic is home to District 1 (northern NJ-New England) and D-5 (NJ to Carolinas).
