Often when women disclose abuse they are not believed, or they are asked to provide a ton of evidence.
Specialist organisations are safe places where women will be believed and supported.

We sometimes try to ‘explain away’ abuse simply as patterns of behaviour.
We must not do this - it simply does the abuser’s job for them.
There are no excuses for abuse.

You can be a victim/survivor of domestic abuse even if no physical force is used against you.
There are many non-violent forms of abuse designed to make women feel threatened, undermined and helpless.
