Every day, someone with poor understanding of statistics is tantalizingly close to discovering that people in live in cities, yet seldom is enlightenment achieved.

Most days I feel like Mr. Lynch here.

But then sometimes I read the news and see what’s happening and think of the people enthusiastically doing all that to others, and I begin to understand why someone would want to build the Torment Nexus…

As far as this research shows, while the term sorcerer was occasionally used as a title or synonym in pre-3.0 D&D, it was never specifically associated with spontaneous casting, innate ability over learning, or charisma over intelligence.

What is the oldest published version of the Sorcerer class/kit in D&D?
I'm wondering if the absolute first incarnation of a Sorcerer EVER in the history of D&D (and D&D compatible published works) was 3rd edition. My gut tells me there's probably been 100+ hom...

Broken machinery that gets parts into the food, followed by failure to scan the finished products magnetically or with X-rays to check for metal fragments, as is supposed to happen.

Most people, when giving a press conference that they themselves called in advance, would at least read over their prepared statement beforehand, maybe even rehearse it once or twice—but not Donald “Confidence” Trump. He’s so confident, people can’t stop talking about how he wins confidence games!

Grok is from Stranger in a Strange Land, which is after Heinlein’s fascism-is-cool-phase, and more or less marks the beginning of his dirty-old-man phase where most of his books are about self-insert character Lazarus Long self-inserting into his own mother and underage female clones of himself.

Ah, for the days of true Presidential leadership, when we got proper speeches like JFK’s vow to lower egg prices:

I ran BitD followed by Scum & Villainy for a combined three years or so (currently running a FitD supernatural secret agency hack of my own design), and honestly forgot the claim map even existed. We managed to have plenty of player-driven story without it.

Just wait for the Roman fire department model to hit health insurance: Before the ambulance will take you to the hospital, you’ll need to sign the five-year indenture contract (plus a pending credit check, of course, and if they don’t like what they see, they’ll dump you out on the road halfway)…

I describe it as the feeling that you are the voice in your own head, screaming at yourself to get up and do the thing, sometimes even a fun thing that you want to do, but the part of you that’s in control of your body just ignores you and keeps doing some mindless low-reward task instead.

And I’ve seen dozens of posts from people stating that Astarion in Baldur’s Gate III either helped them realize they were or had been in an abusive relationship, or helped them come to terms with having been in one and accepting that it was not their fault they’d been victimized.
