My first real camera was the lil bro to this one, the C740. It still works great, and takes some sharp 3.2MP pics! I’ve been toying with the idea of turning it infrared.

@rotonomics.bsky.social have you read the book? Do you have any criticisms of the authors’ reasoning? I don’t disagree that current LLMs are underwhelming, but I would argue they are already being harmful to humanity. A number of human deaths can already be directly attributed to them.

There’s lots of evidence that even current AI alignment with human interests is a non-trivial problem, just look at the data centers that are already burning cities worth of power and evaporating billions of gallons of water. Not so good for people… AI companies aren’t stopping there.

I’m curious about your thoughts on “If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies.” I’m near the end of the book, and I’m reasonably convinced that artificial super intelligence will kill us all, regardless of the actual business applications and profitability of their products in the short-term.
