Astrophotographer from Luxembourg - I like the night sky, our planet, trees, spaceships, mountainbikes and lego. I also like breathing (exercice), walking barefoot, and politics (when in the right mood)

This will be my big project for the winter season. Yesterday’s sky allowed me to gather 2 hours worth of h-alpha data, which convinced me to go with this framing. Planning to go all in with all the filters blazing… :-) SHO palette with some RGB and RGB stars. #astrophotography

October and November fighting for the high ground.

The area around LDN 879 in the Cygnus constellation, close to the bright star Sadr, about 5,000 light years away from earth. Not the most popular target in Cygnus, but there’s a lot going on here. A complete rework of my narrowband data captured with an 8" Newton & ASI1600mm. #astrophotography

Since the weather won’t let me go comet hunting, I’m working through some old data. Here are my Pillars of Creation. They’re about seven years old now, and they came out pretty sharp considering my equipment and skill set at the time :-) So here’s a rework and heavy crop. #astrophotography

The central area of the Soul Nebula (IC 1848) in the Cassiopeia constellation, about 7,500 light years away from Earth. Less than 2 hours of h-alpha data (combined with older color data). Targeting 20+ hours of exposure. Gear: 130/910mm apo, Antlia 2.5nm ha-filter & ASI 2600mm pro. #astrophotography

Alpha Persei (Mirfak) as seen during an equipment test. :-) Gear: CF-Apo 130/910mm, ASI 2600mm Pro, Antlia RGB-filters (10x60s each) #astrophotography

To keep the big one from spending lonely nights outside, I got him a little baby brother (71/347mm & 533mc camera) for company. ;-) 🔭❤️🔭 #astrophotography

With the autofocuser finally installed, we are ready for some serious deep-sky action. #astrophotography

Heavily cropped Melotte 15 and surroundings, with color data from another shot. I’ll be adding RGB stars next week if the weather allows. Gear: TS-Optics CF-APO 130/910 mm, Antlia 2.5 μm H-alpha filter, ASI 2600MM Pro camera. #astrophotography

Second light with the new Apo: Messier 33 / about 2.5 hours of LRGB data. Quick and dirty processing, cropped. (Gear: TS CF-Apo 130/910 & ASI 2600MM Pro) #astrophotography

First light with my new TS-Optics CF-Apo 130/910. Also, my first ever shot with asiair. Quite the game changer, I have to admit... #astrophotography

Apologies to astrophotographers and observers in Europe! We just got cursed with at least 3 month of clouds...

IC 1795, or the Fish Head Nebula, about 6,000 light-years away. This was probably my last project with the 8" Newton. I'll soon be shooting with a 6" apo refractor. Gear: 203/926mm Newton, 2600mm Pro camera & 2,5nm ha-filter, ~6 hours of exposure. Color data from an older shot. #astrophotography
August 23, 2025 at 9:17 PM
The Cygnus Wall in NGC 7000 about 2.500 light years away. Starless with 8" Newton & 2600 mono. ~20 hours of exposure. #astrophotography

The crescent Moon on June 29. Gear: C11 & Touptek 2600 Mono #astrophotography

A clash of fire and ice? Not quite, more like turbulence within incredibly vast gas clouds of ionized hydrogen, oxygen, and sulphur, located in the Pelican nebula (IC5070) about 1,800 light-years from Earth. Gear: C11 at 1960 mm & Touptek 2600 camera. #astrophotography

Wake up nerds, the first images from the Rubin Observatory just dropped!

Rubin’s specialty: a wide field of view and speed. This gorgeous image of the Trifid and Lagoon Nebulae combines 678 exposures taken in 7 hours.

First results from my newly collimated C11. 🤩 After failing with OCAL and other (indoor) methods, I finally got a Tri-Bahtinov mask and apparently nailed it within five minutes on Vega. Nebulae (4h each) shot through a 2.5nm H-alpha filter. The (daylight) Moon using an IR filter. #astrophotography

Space, so vast, so much to discover and understand... and here we are, on our tiny little planet, wasting no opportunity to bash each other’s heads... If there are intelligent aliens out there watching us, they are probably facepalming from dusk till dawn. (N-AG8, 2600m & 2,5nm ha) #astrophotography

Plato, Sinus Iridum, and Mare Frigoris, where the #ispace lander #Resilience 🇯🇵 with the #Tenacious 🇱🇺 rover onboard is about to land.
