Yes! Great conversations about service work, sex work, aspiration, and precarity. We also read it as a retelling of Gatsby, one of the few texts they had in common. How come these critiques of the ultra rich take so much pleasure in cataloguing their stuff? (see also: White Lotus, Succession, etc.)

It's a co-taught class on the fiction and sociology of work. So we do Waldman with Braverman, Emma Cline's The Guest alongside The Managed Heart, Lightning Rods with Theory of the Gimmick + The Last Human Job, plus Severance (Ma) / Severance (Stiller)... It's such a fun class!
