A simple 3D head shape armature made from slices of foam board held apart at one inch intervals by some smaller pieces of foam in between the slices. I've covered the head armature with masking tape, so it looks more like a solid head shape now.

Okay, good progress, probably about 93% done now.

Ya wanna hear something cool about me, on this chilly morning as I took this warm shirt out of my closet I realized it reminds me of my favorite rock.

Old dry brown paint paint peeling off of wood in thin vertical strips. A rough concrete surface with a big crack running vertically through it. Strange concrete texture with small stones and a cracked pattern, with flat white blobs that look like maybe the surface was ground down so we're seeing cross sections of stones. A gritty gray concrete surface full of tiny stones, with a broken-off corner that was repaired with red concrete

When I'm sculpting something (well, what I do is more like building than sculpting) I feel pretty capable and in control, but when it comes to painting I feel pretty lost. I've painted and repainted this old head three times now. I'm trying to get smarter about choosing colors, blending colors, etc…

So, I made these hands for this cabinet that I hate in our guest bathroom. It doesn't fit to the sink and there's this big gap where you USED TO be able to see ugly plastic tubes to the left. I couldn't think of a good way to hide/fill the space completely, so this was my solution. 🧠

I made these monster hands and I am pleased with how they came out! No paper maché this time if you can believe it! Mostly foam clay on an armature of foam board.

A very crackly pattern on an old metal sign that almost looks like a map of a European city. Corroded and rusty metal with lots of small lichens, also a small circular hole. A silver painted metal surface that's been painted over many times so it's got an irregular texture to it including some drips. A weathered and dirty concrete post with some greenish moss and lichens.
