Saw some beautiful Stibnite minerals at the @brucemuseum.bsky.social in Westport CT.

While you could grind these into dust for kohl I’m glad they are safely behind glass.
Say what you want about the dispensaries that are everywhere they are definitely a gateway to learning about terpenes.

Looking for topics/case studies for our final exam I found IFF's first patent for Iso E Super, a (set of) woody aroma compounds.

A great way to explore functional groups, stereochemistry and analytical chem.

In undergrad before a phys chem exam I renamed my friend “vibrational relaxation” in my phone so I would have to think about the term every time we texted

Anyway he reached out after many years because he’s visiting nyc and I can’t help but think about non-radiative energy transmission

Always a pleasure to discuss the wonders of lignin.

Note: it’s not suggested to hug the big ball of Twine in Cawker City KS. It’s rumored the locals pee on it.

With that said it has over a literal ton of lignin in it.
🍂 From acorns to lignin — chemistry, creativity, and a dash of twine.
This week’s Greener by Design guest, @manhattanscientist.bsky.social (SUNY FIT), showed how sustainability can be both brilliant and fun:
