The folks w/ privilege fleeing/have fled the United States in the last year b/c they “see the warning signs” are fucking cowards. There are so many people who can’t leave. They have money/power/connections & leaving b/c it’s a little stressful, it leaves the fight to the most vulnerable populations

November 2024, part of the reason I went low contact with my mom was the fact that her husband was a DHS officer. For a while I wondered if that was a bad reason to go low contact. Now I think it was really good intuition of things to come. I’ve been no contact for over a year.

Now more than ever I regret having a kid. What future does she even have at this point? It’s so fucking dismal. Everything is broken, or about to be. It’s hard to I still hope for the future in her when I see no future for humanity. I’ll keep doing my very best for her sake. I’m just exhausted.

I got a pineapple on Friday from the food bank that was about to go off so I immediately chopped that sucker up and made a pineapple cake for the first time in my life. It wasn’t pretty but my kid said it was delicious so I declared it a success.

My hope for this year is that we find a way to connect as humans. Until we can find a way to relate/connect/understand/love each other through adversity and drop the facade of separation/independence, we will never be able to build a strong future for ourselves and generations that follow.

After over two years of hell enduring one of the worst flares of my life I was able to eat rice and salmon yesterday without ending up with severe pain and nausea. Maybe I can rely a little less on liquid and puréed foods. 2026 is looking promising if that continues. Yippee!

We must do better for gen Z/alpha. They’re being left a steaming pile of 💩 as older generations bitch and complain about how *terrible* those gens are w/out recognizing their contribution to the 💩 pile. I’m actually shocked at how well they are coping w/ the absolute chaos they are being handed.

Abt 50% of the posts on Bluesky have nothing original to say(me included). It doesn’t add anything original/helpful to the world to be another profile to post about a social media post someone posted years ago as a gotcha. What does that contribute to society as a whole? What are we even doing?
