I make Maps from 1's and 0's. I have a Cochlear Implant, so I hear with them too.

That My Bloody Valentine gig was a curate's egg. Fully expected for what was billed (and charged for) as a rehearsal. When they clicked it was very powerful.

Saturday night is going to be incredible.

I've seen 2 My Bloody Valentine gigs over the last 33 years, and now I'm going to see them twice more in the space of 4 days.

Truly the end of the best beer bar that Dublin ever had.

The community that Paddy built in Underdog over the last 8 years is something that the city will miss, but I'll miss it more...

This wildly inaccurate take is going to get annoying very quickly.

The story of the election is that the Continuity Higgins candidate won at a canter.

A landslide for Connolly - but the story of this election is protest

Saw this lovely map of Merrion Sq from 1764 in the Oscar Wilde house.

Interesting that the buildings are drawn in elevation. The yet to be built Fitzwilliam St. is called 'the intended new street', and there are numerous appearances of 'Stable Lane'

I thought I was going to England for the day, not to the Nanny State.

Just spotted a 'Gavin For President' poster near the American embassy.

Embarrassing.

The Wedding Present in Whelan's this evening. Great gig revisiting their 40 years, done in reverse chronological order.

That was probably the most middle-aged moshpit I've been in.

Not an expert (I'll leave that to @greencollective.io) but the RESS 5 results look good to me.

Is the €99/MWhr price for this an all time low? It must be close.

Interesting that it's 860MW solar but only 219MW onshore wind.

The 'Asian Hornet's Nest in Cork' story is doing the rounds. According to this Guardian article they arrived in Bordeaux in 2004 hidden in a shipment of pottery from China. There are now half a million nests in France.

The truth about Asian hornets: how terrified should humans and honeybees actually be?
Ever since this ‘killer’ species arrived in the UK in 2016, there have been horror stories about it – and they have picked up pace in recent months. So are these hornets nasty predators or just misund...

Interesting evening last night at Gibby Haynes Plays Butthole Surfers. There were definite School Of Rock vibes from his teenaged backing band, but they were note perfect

Evicshen isn't to everyone's taste, she was like an atonal arhythmic Autechre delivering performance art. Personally, I loved it

I'm walking down Francis St, miles away from the Oasis gig, and I think I can hear it fairly clearly.

So I pop into a pub and it dawns on me that they're playing Definitely Maybe on their PA.

Mogwai in Vicar St this evening. I haven't seen them play My Father My King is a good while. Certainly blew the cobwebs out of the rafters.

The best band of brothers playing in Dublin this month. Next month too, probably. @sparksofficial.bsky.social at The National Stadium tonight.

More bike friendliness in Freiburg. We're in a cafe atop a 2 storey bike parking garage. That's a bike bridge crossing the 11 platforms at the main train station.

Just out of shot is another bridge, for trams, and of course there's a stop on it for most of the tram services in the city.
