Green Party Senator, former Minister for Nature, Heritage and Electoral Reform.
Talking to ecology students in Trinity College, I spoke of the need for creativity and collaboration in the great nature restoration challenge. It will be resource hungry; human and financial and the state needs to lead by example.

Míle buíochas @marcuscollier.bsky.social as an cuireadh.

@greenpartyie.bsky.social members out in force for the @stopclimatechaos.bsky.social demo in Dublin.

Building on this collaboration between climate, nature, social inclusion, development NGOs and politics will be vital to force a radical change in direction here in Ireland. 🇮🇪

Raising the matter of Marine Protected Area (MPA) legislation with MoS for Marine, Timmy Dooley.

He tells me a new approach bringing amendments to the MAP Act is nearing completion and includes many of the elements of the old draft bill, including public participation.

Two men who shared a deep understanding and love of our heritage, culture, nature and our language and saw it through a lens of inclusion, a celebration of diversity.

A Presidency defined by courage and compassion.

Míle buíochas a Uachtaráin agus Sabina. Bain sult as na blianta ciúine. ❤️

Heritage Ireland Summit 2025 focused on the contribution of children and young people towards shared appreciation and celebration of our built, natural, cultural and archaeological heritage.

It was wonderful to meet up with people from across a heritage sector that is thriving.

Conversations on the potential of restoring seagrass and salt marsh habitats to store carbon hosted by @ucdearth.bsky.social

A hugely informative event; as Govt scrambles to meet sectoral targets, consideration on these habitats needs further attention.

It was a privilege to open day two of the Kildare Wildlife Rescue biodiversity conference.

Wildlife rehabbers like KWR will play an important role in our collective efforts to restore nature at scale in Ireland. Well done on two inspiring days for nature.

At the start of our Oireachtas Committee on Key issues affecting the Traveller community, we observed a minute's silence to remember the victims of the Carrickmines fire, ten years ago today.

Ten years on and many Traveller families are still living in dangerous, overcrowded conditions.

The 2015 Gender Recognition Act was a progressive step forward for Transgender rights in Ireland.

But progress has been slow since. I joined Transgender Equality Network Ireland at their campaign briefing to implement recommendations of the 2018 review. Trans rights are human rights.

The great virtuoso Dublin fiddle player Tommie Potts was celebrated in City Hall with the launch of a beautiful book on his extraordinary life by Seán Potts.

It was a treat to join the celebrations of one of our greatest ever traditional musicians.

He brought his deep love of nature, heritage and the Irish language into our homes and into our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of Manchán Magan's passing; a beautiful, gentle soul.

Ní fheicfimid a leithéidí arís; ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís ❤️

The Palestine Crochet made it's way to Kilkenny and was unfurled in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle; a beautiful creative statement.

We stood in silence and in solidarity with the people of #Gaza as Israel continues it's genocidal actions.

Day two of our community apple (and a little beetroot) pressing in the orchard of St Canice's Cathedral and a steady flow of customers.

All donations going to World Central Kitchen in #Gaza 🇵🇸

Our @greenpartyie.bsky.social think-in kickstarted with a press conference.

We're ready for the term ahead, to rebuild and build alliances with with other progressive parties and independents.

Nature restoration and climate action are being sidelined here and in Europe. Our voice is needed.

The beautifully delicate bog rosemary on Lodge Bog in Lullymore today.

We gathered at the invitation of the Irish Peatland Conservation Council to celebrate the long friendship between Netherlands 🇳🇱 and Ireland 🇮🇪 in peatland restoration. #RestoreNature @greenpartyie.bsky.social

Wildlife rescues play an important role in our wider conservation efforts in Ireland.

I visited Kildare Wildlife Rescue to chat with the team about the huge increase in demand for services.

I think its time that there was a strategic fund to support this important work.

I am saddened and deeply upset for our Indian community over the postponement of India Day 🇮🇳 celebrations but safety must be paramount in light of recent attacks.

My comments here in the link on the need for urgent action to stamp out racism.

Good move Patrick. Apart from exploiting artists, this article from Mark O'Connell paints a damning picture of involvement in the arms industry.

I prefer to buy music direct from the artist at a gig or from a record store.

Wayside and Hedgerow is a collaborative project between artists Jennie Castle, Polly Minett and composer Kate Powell and a powerful statement for #nature restoration.

It was a privilege to open the exhibition in the 17th century Rothe House for Kilkenny Arts Festival Fringe.

Kilkenny stands with Palestine and with the people of #Gaza; a great turnout today.

We feel so powerless at times but coming together in solidarity as part of a global movement for peace is impactful.

Well done to the organisers agus míle buíochas once again to our local Gardai.

As a member of the Oireachtas Arts Cttee, I am sad to hear of the passing of @rteradio1.bsky.social Arena presenter; Seán Rocks.

Kilkenny's first #Pride parade and worth the wait as we basked in summer sunshine ☀️

Comhgairdeas to Kilkenny Pride on a wonderful day of celebration.

It copperfastens my thinking that we can have productive, profitable farms, healthy nature and clean rivers. The State and EU need to provide long term funding for farm families towards actions on climate, nature and water. Míle buíochas Bryan, Gail and family for a thought provoking visit.
