I'm hoping to turn this into an irregular series, if possible. Here is a sample entry: "No. MCCLXVII being The Temple Cylinder of King Hadansius" 3/3
No. MCCLXVII being “The Temple Cylinder of King Hadansius” - Clay cylinder, inscribed on all sides, Chaldean, from the land of Shinar. Discovered, they saith, alow the foundations of the Temple to Bel in the City of Palaces. ‘Tis claimed to be written by King Hadansius, the city’s legendary founder, declaring the grounds sacred and proclaiming the temple most holy above all others. Eftsoon its discovery, ‘twas read aloud by the high priest, who was wont to repeat: “Hadansius decreed this a thousand years ago.” The public listened to the archaic words of the cylinder outside the temple’s newly built portico. Though not too archaic, for the faithful understood them. Finis

The fictitious compendium contains numbered entries, as if drawn from a catalogue, each a 100-word drabble. Each entry describes a piece of writing that is suspicious, misleading, or an outright forgery.
