Great show, properly outstanding. And I don't know the story, so the plot keeps hitting me hard.

Nelson at Trafalgar. It guaranteed British naval dominance at a crucial time, which went unchallenged for a hundred years. That naval supremacy was instrumental in the defeat of Napoleon, allowing logistical advantages for our armies and trade power that undermined any lasting opposition to Britain.

These wars were so often fought on good assumptions and clever tricks, as you were near blind beyond your line of sight. It's amazing in hindsight but this kind of ruse was such a big part of the art of warfare. Such a fine line between success and failure. All very impressive.

I have recently been learning about Napoleon. The videos are great and have these lovely animations with maps which show units moving about the battlefield. But that is a luxury they didn't have.

Jingoist leader talks about defence, refusing Scots a referendum and walks about in high-vis and hard hats for a photo op in response to bad polling. We've seen this one before.

FR, This seems to effect you alot, which I'm sorry to hear. If it helps, I think of you as American. And as a Scottish guy, I'm pretty jealous, from the outside looking in it seems like it would be really cool to be American.

That's my favourite thing about melting pots, the way you can still pick at the individual parts and their origins. That right there is the sign of a good melting pot, if you are essentially unable to blend in. /s

TV now has the fiction crown, TV has gotten outstanding, really high quality, telling great stories. YouTube is indeed the casual daily non-fiction, learn about the Romans, something to put on during dinner that TV once was.

My favourite DM, Dice camera action has some amazing moments. I got started in 4e with Keep on the Shadowfell, and have played a bunch of modules since, you worked on a great era for dnd.

You and Astra are consistently the best part of my feed here. Love the art, and the banter. Definitely Starfleet material

She's a cutie, I'd bet she's as smart and dedicated as her namesake. Yeah great shows, I totally snuck an Atlantis episode into this list, it definitely deserves a mention. My brother is collecting a set right now, it's worth owning a show like this full and in its original. Plus DVD extras are fun

Reminds me of Family Ness, a weird little show which I'm glad to see has been mentioned. Seems there is a G3 pegasus mlp called Thistle Whistle, a thing from that show. It's from years later, but I wonder if it's a nod to that brand/idea.

Example. They make noise about the first lesbian kiss, the first black stormtrooper. But they shoot the film, planned from the begining, so that those people can be completely edited around when they release the film for the chinese market.

RedLetterMedia used the phrase "passive progressive" to describe this. Wanting to appear progressive, a token effort without actually doing anything. It's a very accurate expression, and I think about it often.

Not one I rate, but any episode with Tim is a good one. I don't know what it is about him but he can make the simplest bit funny.
