Top sewing tip for the day - Don't cut fuzzy fabric when wearing cord.

Christmas Jumper Reveal!

The naffest Christmas jumper ever? And I'm proud of it! I'll be selling kits to upcycle your jumpers in Oxfam in Holywood tomorrow.

Come chat all things sustain fashion with me from 10.30. 🧵🪡

I've found something more annoying than a cat sitting on your fabric while you try to cut it. A very stubborn dog! 😆

Last but not least - on the 22nd December the kids will be taking over the studio with sessions for 8+.

Christmas bunting and decorations for the younger kids and last minute panic gifts for grandparents/aunts/uncles/parents for the older kids.

The other Christmas news is December in the studio will be all about Christmas makes. From Stockings to beauty gift sets via sacks for those who hate wrapping presents.

Sorry, I'm going have to talk about Christmas. Please forgive me!

First off, date for your diary - 6th December 11am-5pm at Oxfam Holywood Superstore!

I'll be doing demos and selling kits so you can turn a boring jumper into a Christmas wonderland!

Perfect for Grinches and Christmas fans alike. 😉

My ill gotten gains from the show yesterday.

It's easy to be put off by the price of getting into a show but the postage for this little lot would have been significantly more than the ticket.

Demo done!

Genuinely - if anyone had told me 10 years ago that I would be presenting at the Knitting and Stitching show I would have thought you were kidding. 😁

It's #KnittingAndStitching day! I have a car full of jeans and a head full of ideas ready to demo my now on trend jeans skirt. 😁

I'll do some posts through the day to give you all an idea of what to expect from the show. 🤩

There's nothing like leaving things to the last minute!

I'm busy prepping for the Knitting and Stitching Show. I'll be doing a demo of my jeans into skirt make with box pleats on Thursday.

If you're similarly last minute and don't have tickets yet LASTMINUTE will get you £4 off. 😊🪡🧵🧶

Just discovered the #SewAndTell feed!

Last week's prompt was scraps, which, you can imagine I end up with a lot of in the studio! Here's just some of the scrap projects I've done in the last year.

Reminiscing about my sewing space when I started sewing.

I kinda miss those days. I don't miss having to cut on the floor though! 😆

One of the problems a sewing teacher has is how do you help people at their machine without causing irreparable damage to your back.

I decided to get myself a small light stool that I can move about with in the studio.

It was boring though. Good job I am a sewing teacher - it now sparks joy!

A little better! 😁

If you're wondering what happens to the bits that are too small for cushions I put them in a massive free to a good home box for anyone who comes to the studio. 😊

Being a strong teacher isn't all glamour!

All materials are provided and I like to give people the choice so they'll actually use what they make.

This means a lot of pre cutting. Today is fabric for cushions.

Is it boring? Yes. 😆

I spent ages today doing a time lapse of the embroidery machine in action. Did I hit record? Of course I didn't.

So have a picture of the finished product instead!
