As thousands of education workers prepare to go on strike, don’t let the UCP distract from how we got here.

Over 4000 students in Edmonton Public Schools are unfunded by the UCP. Alberta has the lowest per-student funding in the country.

The UCP will blame school boards.

But this is on the UCP.

Support staff work 35 hrs/week, 10 months a year, and earn an average of $27,000 a year. Many have multiple jobs and still struggle to pay their bills.

If they can't support themselves, they can't support our children. They deserve better. They deserve a living wage.
