After my phone updated to iOS 26 I have never touched this button in the screenshot interface because 99.9% of the time I need to either Share the image to LINE/Discord, or to Copy it to the clipboard.
In iOS 18, there's a menu in the top left corner with the Copy and Delete option.

it is impossible to tell whether CCs are on or off: the CC button is always the same dark text on white background, and the menu colours stay the same, with ‘captions off’ here meaning ‘disable the captions’, not ‘captions are currently disabled’
