A lib sci degree absolutely isn't, I'd say some experience helps but with a law degree you'd also have a good background. Also there are opportunities for qualified lawyers as Knowledge Management/Practice Development lawyers that are similar but higher level!

Ultimately the skills i learned doing a phd and uni teaching/lib research support are exactly what i use now in a different way. Don't believe the lie that these skills don't matter, they're becoming increasingly rare.

...so I didn't get a job. Applied to everything, got interview with a law firm for research & library/information support. Got it. Now moved to new firm to continue legal research & do research training for lawyers. ...
