I went on a minor cooking and baking spree after work today. First, I made a poblano pepper and corn chowder and now am waiting for the first batch of cookies to come out of the oven.

One of the (many) things I love about our new home is the number of indie bookstores and libraries in the area. We gave away or donated our books before leaving Florida and are rebuilding our collection with books we love or want to reread, starting with these from Wallace Books in Sellwood.

I tried my hand at making chicken Provençal tonight and it turned out SO GOOD. And it was surprisingly easy to make as well!

I’m experiencing my first “real” fall in almost 10 years and DAMN it’s pretty*

This morning’s workout was a toughie with the humidity, but at least it’s done. Now at home cooking up some shredded pork for bennies and easy protein for the next few days.

Next up is "Under Color Of Official Right" by Protomartyr. I heard one of their songs (Maidenhead) randomly at a local record shop and it gave me Interpol, early Editors, and horror rock feels and I decided I NEEDED this album.

I’m slowly making my way through my record collection, listening to it while I work and adding album details to the catalogue I started for it. We’ve made it through all of my Coltrane, Armstrong, The Beatles, and a few misc classic rock records. This morning we’re starting off with “Dire Straits”.
