Downloaded Root to see if it’s better than Discord or will make for a good replacement to Discord. Initial thoughts are that it has some rough edges but it already has text channels and voice/video call channels so it’s well on its way to being a replacement.

I want to run a magical girl/tokusatsu ttrpg with the on-foot fighting being run with ICON and the giant robot fighting being run with Lancer. This is hard because ICON isn’t actually in full release and neither system is really “for” this kind of setting so it would be a lot of work to adapt

My wife was watching sailor moon with me for the first time (it was a rewatch for me) she was able to guess some things but occasionally there was a curveball; the largest was that she guessed who Chibi-chibi was, but only in the manga. Which is weird to get the right answer for the wrong continuity

It’s fascinating watching Sailor Stars again and realizing some of the foreshadowing works for the manga ending as much as the anime ending even though they’re different endings. Also Chibi-chibi makes me miss Chibiusa, bring my girl back!

Annoyed at the reasons people bring up for why ai is “bad”; I’m not arguing for the use of generative ai, but I do think a lot of absolutely bunk arguments are getting thrown around that have very little basis in ethics or the hard facts, which is where opposition should be coming from

Reading the original Conan stories nowadays is a mix of “this clearly set up and was riffing on early conventions for weird sci-fi and sword and sorcery and was important for later works” and “this is wildly racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, and a hundred other things that really suck ass”

I finally realized that the reason my gaming group doesn’t want to play new ttrpgs isn’t because they don’t want to try new games; it’s just the same resistant that they (and I) show towards starting a new show, like yeah it looks cool but I’m already invested in a bunch of other things right now

There’s something uniquely odd about seeing gorgeous breathtaking art of a woman and then you visit the artist’s page and it’s the only time they’ve ever drawn a woman, and every other piece of art is like, gacha game yaoi. I’m not telling anyone what art they should make it just feels odd
