35 | he/him | in another life I would have been a retro game vtuber. on Bryn in FFXIV
Sektori (2025)
holy shit, no wonder this is a former housemarque dev. feels like someone mashed gradius' upgrade system into resogun, stage chains aren't super hard to maintain but combo multipliers require a lot of forethought and reaction on boosts. bosses are actually satisfying to full chain.

Leap Year (2024)
another little puzzly figure-out-the-rules one, conveniently enough this was in a bundle with linelith and Öoo, super recommend. this reminded me of An Untitled Story based on the art but this is all about platforming without killing yourself because you're the guy from spelunker

Linelith (2022)
breezy little puzzle game that makes you figure out the rules and then rethink previous assumptions about them later. great level of polish, kinda feels like if this was a flash game back then everyone would have lost their shit over it

Constance (2025)
this was fun! platforming feels satisfying and akin to HK1, bosses have some interesting designs but some wacky hitboxes make the combat just a little off, collectibles are kinda eh. the art direction is really lovely and story's heavy-handed but not bad. nice quick game to chew on

all caught up again
A Case Of Fraud (2025)
a cute detective game in the vein of the roottrees are dead, loved the way the last section refocuses to contextualize specific evidence. bite sized and very charming

Is This Seat Taken? (2025)
this is very cute, just the right flavor of arranging people in an area to not drive each other crazy. I didn't mind that there were some concepts reused (ie multiple train/bus levels) since they change it up with many gimmicks/modifiers for what people are comfy with.

Cloverfield (2008)
I'd never actually seen this but it was a fun time, definitely has one of the more tenuous reasons for being found footage but the setting and concept is innately cool. I think they should have had someone else hold the camera because jesus CHRIST dude
November 23, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Spilled! (2025)
feels like an ascended game jam game, cute and short!
the movement upgrades are particularly minimal on each increment but it is supposed to be more of a relaxing slow process, so I can't really fault it.
November 23, 2025 at 1:34 AM
Belle Boomerang (2022)
decent lil platformer, kinda toes the line between being rude on checkpoints with difficult spots and then giving you really easy spots that are impossible to fuck up, at least in later worlds. music's good and the rest area filling up with more interactions as you go is cute

Silent Hill (2006)
god this sucks ass
like, it's probably fiiiine? if you've never seen anything about silent hill just as a cheesy horror film but man it really feels like they took a youtube playthrough of some of the game and then pasted hellraiser inbetween sections
November 23, 2025 at 1:23 AM
whoops catchup time again
Pudding: Lyre Knight (2023)
actually my first katatema game I've actually played, really interesting structure to the plot and satisfying to play, you can fit this in a small sitting so give it a shot.
November 23, 2025 at 1:20 AM
I had to double check, same one that made you able to make combat not ear-piercingly loud compared to the rest of the game in july
November 19, 2025 at 1:45 AM
I forgot I had the first volume of this manga?? what the fuck
November 15, 2025 at 12:56 AM
I'm not incredibly astounded but it's always funny when a year has all my top games as less than half the cost of a AAA game and like, 8 gigs or less. disaster arms and zexion are like 250mb combined.
November 12, 2025 at 9:55 PM
caught up again ehehe
[Raid group movie night #15]
Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum
it does a good job of flopping between standard found footage horror and scooby doo
honestly most of the scenes indoors especially the locked rooms are fucking skincrawling, really effective

[Raid group movie night #14]
Knowing (2009)
it's definitely movie shaped, it's better than I remember but honestly it just gets a buff from having Nic Cage in it. longest ending you can imagine
November 12, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor (2009)
god this game fucking rules, can't believe I didn't play this before. amps up the pace of the original game since it became a light gun game due to being on the wii, has a ton of bosses like before but now they all feel pretty well-realized in complexity.
November 12, 2025 at 12:25 AM
Nuclear Blaze (2021)
a fine little puzzly platformer where most levels involve keeping fires from spreading by routing off certain spots and slowly clearing out everything. the conceit of the setting isn't really used that well but the additional hard mode remixing levels is cool
November 12, 2025 at 12:22 AM
gotta be
November 10, 2025 at 11:33 PM
Mushihimesama (2004) [replay]
man I still suck at this one but I love the way cave sets up stages and the overall aesthetic. at least down to 5cc from last time lmao
November 6, 2025 at 10:07 PM
Alien Soldier (1995) [replay]
honestly, it's kinda just fine? I think I prefer Gunstar Heroes/Super Heroes over this, the forcing weapon swaps feels dissatisfying and most of the game relies on your iframe dash that covers half the screen compared to their other games that were more spacing reliant
November 6, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Rayman Legends (2013)
one of the best to ever do it, solid level design and good gimmicks along with remixes/alt stages with time trials/invasions. little floatier than I'm used to now but god this game looks beautiful. fucked up that ubisoft can't manage making another one of these again
November 6, 2025 at 9:51 PM
(I'm counting the entirety of the train leading up to the front as the full fight)
November 2, 2025 at 3:30 AM
Disaster Arms: Impact Project B.A.H.N.
god this RULES
perfect run and gun platformer, you can tell the dev understood how to combine the greatest parts of specific Treasure games in a cohesive way. the combat feels really good and it feels incredibly fair while also being fairly tough to 1cc
November 2, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Touhou ~ Unconnected Marketeers (2021)
good-ass time, haven't played an actual mainline entry since like 2009. surprisingly difficult even on normal, this one adopts a roguelite sort of card shop at the end of levels that grant various benefits or sidegrades. good for repeat plays but rough to 1cc
