After close observation for the past 30 minutes, I have confirmed that it is four songs on a loop: a Nutcracker medley and instrumental versions of "Joy to the World," "Jingle Bells" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

Four songs on a loop. All day. Starting shortly after Halloween.

I'm a big Signal fan — I use it often for sensitive reporting. But not all of my sources on lower-stakes stories use it.

Not really an option for me as a reporter. I reach out to sources all the time and ask them to call me, and it's not realistic to pre-arrange every call and have them give me their number in advance so I can put it in my contacts.
