Sure, if the situation called for it. If I had a friend or relative who was involved with some white supremacist group and he came to me telling me about his disillusionment with the group he was in, yes, of course I'd be nice to him and listen to what he had to say.

There are plenty of examples of people changing their party affiliation. Look at Pamela Hemphill, the "MAGA Granny." Look at the "Leaving MAGA" people with their personal stories.
